It simply holds.”

At last, we learn
to recognise, everywhere,
how community
grows from the circle,
shapes us,
yet leaves within each of us
a quiet, lasting trace,
neither claimed nor displayed:
dignity.
Dignity
A person recognises another
by the dignity they show in return.
It becomes visible
in respecting boundaries
and choosing to uphold them.
Across time and distance,
dignity endures
without losing its clarity.
And yet, many know
the troubling thought
of not being worthy enough.
When farewell approaches,
its true importance becomes clear
— more than possessions,
more than influence.
Dignity reaches further
than a single lifetime.
It deepens through lived experience,
through what a person has carried
— unless they were broken.
Through suffering,
through humiliation,
until the memory fades
of who one once was.
Love exists everywhere.
Only when it prevails
does suffering lose its power.
Then dignity
can become visible again.
